Parish Organizations
Parish Council
St. Robert's Parish Pastoral Council works in cooperation with the pastor to enrich the life of the parish. It is composed of parishioners nominated by their peers or who have volunteered their service. The members serve for at least 3 years. The council supports various activities including the Parish Picnic, a Wellness Ministry, Evangelization, a Lenten "Soup and Stations" program, and provides assistance with many other parish ministries and activities.
Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary is an organization of practicing Catholics who perform such ministries and works of mercy deemed useful for the Church and it's members. The object of the Legion's works is the sanctification of it's member through prayer and active cooperation in the work of the church. Active Legionaries meet weekly for prayer and commit themselves to at least 2 hours of apostolic work each week. Auxiliary members support the active members by their prayer, committing themselves to praying the Rosary daily.
Ladies Guild
The St. Robert's Ladies Guild was formed in 1951, one of the very first parish organizations. The Guild has sponsored many activities, including card parties, style shows, bake sales, rummage sales and collections for various worthy causes. There have also been retreats, evenings of recollection and communion breakfasts. The Nativity Scene which graces the front of the church was a gift from the Guild. The Guild continues to have a vital role today in building the parish and serving all St' Robert's members.
St. Robert Prayer Group
As a consequence of the "Christ Renews His Parish" program in 1981 and the "Life in the Spirit" seminars, the St. Robert's Prayer group was formed in 1984 with twenty parishioners. The group meets each Monday in the rectory to pray for the sick, pray the Medjugorje Chaplet, a five-decade Rosary and the Chaplet of Devine Mercy. They also have readings from Scripture, The Catechism of the Catholic Church and end with intercessory prayer for the needs of the Church, the world and specific intentions to them by the members.
Pro-Life Group
The Pro-Life Group at St. Robert sponsors spiritual devotions and provides information on the Church's teachings on Human Life Issues such as abortion, euthanasia and assisted suicide. The group sponsors a Holy Hour each Friday from 5:00 to 6:00PM during Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the 11:30AM Mass on the last Friday of the month. They have also been involved in the Giving Tree program during Advent, which collects gifts for those in various Pro-Life Charities such as Birthright.
